The Russian IT-Seasons 2005 was held on February 24th, 2005 at the Adams Mark hotel in Denver, and was a great success. The conference focused on enhancing cooperation in IT outsourcing, software development, and sales between Russian and American companies. RUSSOFT Association, Fort-Ross Ltd. and World Trade Center Denver organized the event, with support from the Trade Representative of Russian Federation in the USA and Russian-American chamber of commerce of Denver.
The Russian IT Seasons 2005 program featured a seminar that educated US companies about current IT trends in Russia. The conference also offered a matchmaking session where participants discussed potential business relationships between American and Russian Software companies.
Mr. Andrey Dolgorukov, Minister Counselor of Russian Federation, presented on behalf of Trade Representative of Russian Federation in the USA, discussing the current state of Russia's economy, and the prospects and challenges of doing business with Russia. Leading Russian software companies shared their knowledge of, and experience with, developing software for American businesses. Companies participating in the event on behalf of Russian delegation included Luxoft; IBA; Bonus Technology, Inc.; Intetics; VDI; KCK International; Mirantis Inc.; Tecom Group; Murano Software; Controlchaostech; and ViTec.
The participant of the seminar, Sergey Zhmako, IBA, says: "Russian IT Season 2005 in Denver provided good opportunities for gaining an insight into outsourcing perspectives, challenges, and trends. Events of this kind stimulate interest of potential customers, maintain a positive image of the Russian IT industry, and ultimately contribute to fostering cooperation between people."
Mr. Dean Lane, CEO of Varitools Inc. was the keynote speaker at the luncheon. Lane was invited to speak as a seasoned professional with over twenty years experience in all aspects of Information Systems and Manufacturing Operations. Mr. Lane has worked for industry leaders including Allied-Signal, Ernst & Young, Thiokol Corporation, AT&T, Plantronics, Masters Institute, Gartner, and Symantec. He offered methods for decreasing risks and overcoming obstacles when outsourcing and offshoring.
The second part of the program was fostered business meetings between participating companies so participants could find new clients and partners. American companies were able to communicate their needs for software development and outsourcing while their counterparts from Russia, Byelorussia, and Ukraine showcased their existing technologies and experiences. Over sixty business to business meetings took place.
A reception hosted by the Russian American Chamber of Commerce of Denver followed the event, offering participants the opportunity to continue negotiations in an informal and friendly atmosphere.
